Pregnancy Massage and Zero Balancing

During pregnancy, the heart, the lungs, the digestive system and the kidneys have to work much harder and the bones and joints have to cope with the weight gain and postural changes. Often old aches and pains become worse and this can take a lot of enjoyment out of your time of pregnancy and motherhood.

As well as easing pains in the back, neck, shoulders and hips it improves the blood and lymphatic circulation, it relieves tired legs and cramps, minimises stress and fatigue, improves sleep and calms an overly active baby.

Bodywork is a powerful tool to support yourself in contacting the wisdom of your body, connecting with your baby and assisting you on your new journey into motherhood. Your partner also benefits greatly from Massage and Zero Balancing. As well as helping their aching muscles from extra DIY and shopping it actually helps them feel more confident and relaxed about being at the birth and becoming a parent.

Motherhood Massage and Zero Balancing

After the arrival of the baby, bodywork will help you recover from giving birth and to cope with the more challenging sides of motherhood like stress, fatigue, sore back and shoulders. By giving yourself some special attention on a regular basis you will have more energy to nurture your child.

I try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible and therefore you have the option of coming on your own for a Motherhood Massage or bringing your baby along if childcare is difficult – Zero Balancing works beautifully even with having a baby or toddler feeding or climbing all over you at the same time. If the baby is not yet crawling they can have a little session too, to help them clear tension and connect with their body. Older children benefit greatly from Zero Balancing too, dealing with everything from sore neck and ankles to life-issues. Zero Balancing is a fabulous way of staying centred in yourself whatever is going on around you – it comes highly recommended.

Birth recovery sessions

Sometimes the birth of your baby was so different to what you expected and hoped for that you are left feeling shocked, disappointed, a failure, sad, guilty, depressed, not sure why things turned out the way they did, having flashbacks from the birth etc. In these sessions we reflect on what happened and how these experiences continue to affect you. You will receive therapies including hypnotherapy techniques and Zero Balancing bodywork and myofascial scar tissue work if needed. The recovery package consists of 3 sessions lasting 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Remembering who you are

After months and years of putting your beautiful child/ren's needs first there comes a time where you perhaps feel like you have lost touch with yourself and need some support to get back on track with what you also want to do in your life. Talking combined with Zero Balancing helps you remember who you are - it 'straightens you up' emotionally and physically, it helps you reconnect with what feels good and right for you in your life. Sessions usually last 1 hour.

A little feedback

I found these sessions endlessly enjoyable and nourishing – they allowed me to feel deeply rested and relaxed and they helped my baby turn into a good position for birth. Karin is highly sensitive to individual needs and her knowledge of the pregnant body and mind is impressive."
